PT 03 : Eight Strangers, Nine Courses, and One Unforgettable Evening

They say you can’t force instant chemistry, it either happens or it doesn’t.

On the evening of 7th August, an invitation brought us to Avartana, ITC Maratha for an exclusive 9-course dining experience – a masterclass pairing Southern culinary artistry with the bold, handcrafted character of Loca Loka Blanco and Reposado Tequila.

Sixteen of us gathered in that private dining room. But at our end of the long table, the evening took on a life of its own.

Eight of us sat down as colleagues and acquaintances, and by the end of the 9th course, we walked out with a booming WhatsApp group and memories that felt like we’d known each other for years.

As Ayuushi captured so perfectly on her story: “How fast do you make friends? 8 of us now have a WhatsApp group. Most wholesome tasting evening.” And Romi summed up the spirit of the night best – a true celebration of discovering new flavors, exceptional tequila pairings, and genuine warmth around a shared table.

In our line of work, we attend many luxury dinners and brand events. Most are pleasant, but very few leave a lasting imprint on the heart. When you find a table where laughter flows effortlessly, where masks drop, and where everyone brings their authentic self, you realize something profound:

We often think life moves forward through our big ambitions and grand achievements. But in truth, life is measured in the warmth of the tables we share, the spontaneous laughter that catches us off guard, and the quiet realization that no soul in our path is ever met by accident. Every person who sits across from you is a mirror, a gift, and a gentle reminder that human connection is the highest art form we have.

A special toast to everyone who made the table light up:

To everyone who sat at that table: last night wasn’t just a tasting menu—it was a reminder of how simple and sacred it is to belong.

To my Extended Family reading this, may you always find tables that feel like home.
